What's left of my life when it's no longer my own?
I feel the earth shift beneath my feet. I feel the weight of my stone.
Our forms may decay but our debt endures.
Now I have nothing left at all.

What good is my mind when it fails to free my soul?
Slaves to repetition and our ambition, we pay quite a toll.
All of these days spent against the wall,
They've been for nothing at all.

I've had a lifetime to think about my past abuses and feeble excuses.
But I can't allow myself to accept
the truth that I'm doomed to not succeed,
or ever break free.

I've climbed to this height, only to fall, too many times.
Was I hubristic, or opportunistic? Am I different from the gods I defy?
Hold tight to any shred of hope you find,
or put the gold over my eyes.

I swallow my pride with a shot of contempt.
They both go down the same.
My sense of purpose and self-preservation
are the only things that keep me sane

If there's a deity of futility I'm his most zealous devotee.

Nemesis keep me, but I'm unyielding.
is there salvation in persistency?

I've had these lifetimes to think about my past abuses
and feeble excuses.
I pull myself up from the dirt. There's so much more that I can be,
than just a slave to eternity.

Save your pity for the weak. We live in perpetual defeat.
Our toil is our immortality.
Find the mountain, reach the peak.
My stone will be left behind for all to see.

And they can't take that from me.
